XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — Maserati Quattroporte M139 (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2003-2012

The M139 Quattroporte was never engineered around its dampers – it was engineered around its Skyhook electronics, and that is exactly the system most owners now want shot of. Two decades on, the original adaptive units are failing, replacement modules are silly money when you can find them, and the car’s natural balance is being held hostage by a control unit that no longer talks to its own sensors. This Tarmac Rally kit from XYZ Racing is the answer: a full mechanical coilover conversion with the cancellation harness needed to put the Skyhook fault light to sleep for good.

It is built for the M139 driver who wants the car to feel like a proper rear-drive Italian saloon again – front-end bite on turn-in, a settled rear under power out of a roundabout, and a ride that you, not a 2003 ECU, get to tune.

What this coilover does for your 2003-2012 Maserati Quattroporte M139 (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping)

Swapping the M139’s tired Skyhook struts for a mechanical Tarmac Rally setup transforms how the chassis loads up. The nose stops pitching under braking into a fast B-road sequence, and the rear stops squatting under that 4.2 or 4.7 V8’s mid-range shove. Ride height is properly adjustable for the first time in the car’s life, so you can sit it where the styling demands without bottoming the bump stops on every Tarmac ripple. Spring and damper rates are matched to the M139’s considerable kerb weight, so the car still rides like a saloon rather than a stripped-out hatchback – it just stops wallowing. The cancellation kit handles the electronic side cleanly, so the dash stays quiet and the Skyhook warning is gone the moment the ignition cycles.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

Tarmac Rally is XYZ Racing’s spec for sealed-surface rally and fast-road stages – softer spring rates than the circuit-focused kits, longer usable damper stroke, and a tune that prioritises mechanical grip over outright body control. Construction is monotube with a separate threaded lower for ride-height adjustment independent of spring preload, which means you can drop the Quattroporte without coil-binding the springs or running out of droop travel. Damping is adjustable so the car can be softened off for a long motorway run and firmed up for a brisker drive without touching the spring perches. The cancellation harness plugs into the original Skyhook loom and presents the resistance values the ECU expects, so no fault codes, no limp-home behaviour, no dashboard nags.

Fitment for the Maserati Quattroporte M139 (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) (2003-2012)

This kit is for the M139 chassis Quattroporte built between 2003 and 2012, covering both the early 4.2 cars and the later 4.7 Sport GT S variants that ran factory Skyhook adaptive damping. The included cancellation harness is the part that makes this a true direct fit – without it, deleting Skyhook on this chassis throws a permanent dash warning.
