XYZ Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — Chevrolet CAMARO CONVERTIBLE 8 CYL 2011-2015

The fifth-generation Camaro convertible carries extra chassis bracing over the coupe to fight scuttle shake, and that added structure sits higher and further back in the car – exactly where a drift car needs predictable, controllable oversteer once you’re committed to a slide. XYZ Racing’s Drift Spec coilover is built around that requirement: a set-up that keeps the body settled through initiation and holds the rear end at a repeatable angle instead of letting it snap past you.

This isn’t a fast-road or track kit sold under a different name. Drift Spec is tuned specifically for competitive drifting, where the rear tyres need to load and unload predictably under big steering and throttle inputs. On the 2011-2015 Camaro Convertible’s V8 chassis (CH01-D), that means a kit that lets you drop ride height for stance and leverage without giving up the bump stroke a sustained, full-lock slide demands.

What this coilover does for your 2011-2015 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible

Lowering the convertible on this kit shifts the car’s roll centre and cuts the body lean that otherwise fights weight transfer mid-slide – useful on a body style that already carries more mass over the rear axle than the coupe, thanks to the additional underbody bracing that keeps a topless Camaro rigid. Set correctly for that kerb weight, the bump stroke keeps the rear axle working through transition instead of topping out or crashing into the bump stops the moment you commit to an angle. That matters most at the point of initiation, whether you’re getting the rear to break with a clutch-kick or a scandi flick: a body that stays flat and composed through the transfer gives you a rear end that answers the same way every entry, so you’re managing the slide rather than fighting the chassis on top of it. The result is a car that holds an angle through a full corner instead of forcing constant correction to keep it there.

About the Drift Spec coilover

XYZ Racing built the Drift Spec line specifically for drift competition rather than adapting a road or circuit kit to the job. The valving and spring rates are chosen to stabilise the car’s body during high-speed, high-angle cornering, so the chassis holds a clean line rather than wallowing or snapping as load shifts from one side to the other – the difference between an angle you can hold and one you’re constantly correcting. Ride height drops as part of the same package, and the bump stroke is set to work with that lower stance rather than against it, so the suspension keeps stroking through a sustained slide instead of running out of travel early. The intent throughout is control at the limit: a car that turns in predictably, holds its angle through the middle of the corner, and lets the driver manage the slide with the steering and throttle rather than the suspension fighting back.

Fitment for the Chevrolet Camaro Convertible (2011-2015)

This kit is built for the Chevrolet Camaro Convertible 8-cylinder cars sold across the 2011 to 2015 model years, covering the CH01-D chassis. It’s specific to the convertible body – its extra chassis bracing and resulting weight distribution are accounted for in the set-up – rather than a shared spec pulled across from the coupe.
