XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow Coilovers — Mercedes-Benz A CLASS W177 A35 4WD φ55.5 (Modified Rear Integrated) 2019-2026

The W177 A35’s four-wheel-drive layout was never just a hot-hatch chassis – underneath the AMG badge sits a genuine rally platform, and that’s the brief for this Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover. Where a circuit coilover chases minimum ride height and maximum front-end bite, this kit is built around travel: enough front and rear stroke to keep the A35 planted when a gravel stage throws a compression at speed rather than a smooth apex kerb.

For drivers running the Mercedes Benz A CLASS W177 A35 4WD on loose surfaces, rallycross events or snow-covered stages, that extra travel is the difference between the car staying composed over a crest and the dampers bottoming out mid-corner. This is the specification XYZ Racing builds when the brief is stability over raw stiffness.

What this coilover does for your 2019-2026 Mercedes Benz A CLASS W177 A35 4WD φ55.5 (Modified Rr Integrated)

On a car that already finds grip through all-wheel drive and a stiff AMG subframe, how the suspension copes with rough, unpredictable surfaces matters more than outright lateral stiffness. A larger volume of suspension oil and nitrogen gas in this kit lets the dampers absorb repeated big hits, compression after compression, without the oil temperature climbing to the point the shock starts to fade partway through a stage. Three adjustment knobs let you set the front and rear independently, so you can soften the rear for traction over broken ground while keeping the front sharp enough to place the nose accurately into a hairpin. Expect a firmer, more deliberate ride than a road coilover, and an occasional faint click from oil passing through the knobs’ small oil-hole passages on a heavy compression – that’s normal and not a fault.

About the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover

The Pro Racing Gravel/Snow is XYZ Racing’s dedicated rally and rallycross damper, built to that brief rather than being a detuned circuit unit. Both the front and rear dampers get extended stroke length, giving the car a bigger buffer zone to soak up compressions before the suspension runs out of travel – important when the surface is unpredictable rather than a known circuit line. Internally, the shock carries a larger charge of suspension oil and nitrogen gas than a standard road or circuit coilover, which keeps oil temperature under control during sustained, repeated hard use instead of letting it climb and the damper fade. Three external adjustment knobs handle compression and rebound, feeding oil through deliberately small passages; on a heavy hit you may hear a faint noise as oil moves through them, a normal characteristic of the design rather than a fault. It’s specced to shrug off track and stage bumps without the driver needing to back off.

Fitment for the Mercedes Benz A CLASS W177 A35 4WD φ55.5 (Modified Rr Integrated) (2019-2026)

This kit is specified for the W177-chassis Mercedes Benz A CLASS A35 4WD, covering 2019 to 2026 model years, with a 55.5mm strut diameter and a modified, integrated rear set-up to suit the platform’s four-wheel-drive rear subframe. Confirm your registration date falls within this range before ordering, as hardware was revised across the W177’s production run.

What buyers also search for

  • Mercedes Benz A35 4WD rally and rallycross suspension for loose surfaces
  • W177 A35 coilover set up for snow and gravel stage driving
  • Mercedes Benz A CLASS W177 damper travel built for repeated big compressions
  • A35 4WD coilover with independent front and rear adjustment for mixed-grip conditions

If you’re building an A35 4WD for stage work rather than tarmac trackdays, spec starts with the surface and travel you need – configure yours below.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. With longer travel for both front and rear, it increases bigger buffer distance to keep the car stable. The most advantages of this product is to extend the amount of suspension oil and nitrogen gas which can increase the stability of the shocks and prevent the shock oil temperature too high from being exhausted after long-term use.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
