Caliper render for this kit:

The RX-8 SE3P carries its weight low and near the centreline, and on a circuit it rewards a driver who trails the brakes deep and lets the rear axle help rotate the car. The standard rear setup is the weak point in that game: composed enough on the road, but quick to lose bite once you start stacking laps and leaning on the engine braking that the high-revving 13B encourages. This rear big brake kit attacks the problem at the back axle, where RX-8 owners feel it first.
The XYZ Racing Hollow Rear Brake Kit for the Mazda RX-8 SE3P (2003-2012) pairs hollow-construction discs with a fixed caliper to firm up pedal feel and hold temperature through repeated heavy stops. It is the rear half of a balanced upgrade, a pair of left and right rear calipers with matched discs, for owners who split their time between track days and fast-road miles.
What this brake kit does for your 2003-2012 Mazda RX-8 SE3P
The hollow disc design trims rotating and unsprung mass at the rear corners, which the light SE3P feels as sharper turn-in and a pedal that stays consistent deeper into a session. Three pad compounds, Street, Sport and Racing, let you match rear bite to how the car is used, from daily driving through fast-road work to sustained circuit sessions where rear balance governs how confidently you can trail-brake. Stronger, more progressive rear braking also helps settle the tail under load, so the RX-8’s natural rotation stays controllable rather than nervous. The net effect is a firmer pedal, less fade, and a back axle that does its share of the work.
About the Hollow Rear Brake Kit
The kit replaces the modest factory rear brakes with two-piece floating, hollow-vane discs and a matched caliper sized for the RX-8’s rear corner. The hollow construction keeps thermal capacity up while shedding weight, which is the priority on a car this light. Discs are offered drilled or slotted at the same price, with two-tone anodized centre bells in five colours or titanium selectable at checkout. Pad compound is a build choice: Street for road use, Sport for spirited fast-road driving, and Racing for circuit sessions that punish a rear axle. The hollow-body caliper is standard, with an optional Hollow Racing upgrade rated to 1000C, no dust cover and a two-year warranty for serious track use. Calipers are finished in the included painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black and Anodized Black), a Custom Color matched to any Pantone, or the premium polished and candy ranges, so the rear setup can match the front and the wheel choice. Everything here is specified for the rear position only; pair it with a front kit for a complete, balanced overhaul.
Fitment for the Mazda RX-8 SE3P (2003-2012)
This kit fits the RX-8 SE3P chassis across the full 2003-2012 production run, mounts at the rear axle, and ships as a matched pair of rear calipers and discs. Confirm your caliper colour, disc style and pad compound from the options above; the rear fitment hardware is matched to the SE3P.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 330–356mm (rear). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
