Caliper render for this kit:

The V90 is a big, heavy estate, and a loaded one puts real work through its rear axle – long motorway descents, a full boot, a trailer or caravan on the back. The XYZ Racing Hollow Rear Brake Kit for the Volvo V90 (2016-2026) swaps the standard rear setup for larger hollow-vane discs and an uprated caliper that shed heat faster and resist the fade that creeps in when the same brakes are asked to work hard, repeatedly.
This is a rear-axle kit, so it complements front braking rather than replacing it – the point is balance and thermal headroom under sustained load. For T6 and T8 owners carrying the extra mass of the plug-in hybrid drivetrain, or anyone who tows, the payoff is consistent pedal feel rather than a headline cut in stopping distance.
What this big brake kit does for your 2016-2026 Volvo V90
After fitting, the change you notice first on a Volvo V90 is how the rear brakes hold up once you use them hard for more than a couple of stops. The hollow-vane disc moves heat out of the casting quickly, so the pedal stays firm on a long descent or after a run of heavy stops from motorway speed. Three pad compound choices – Street, Sport and Racing – let you match the kit to how the car is actually used: Street for quiet, low-dust everyday estate duties, Sport for a quicker road car, and Racing where temperatures climb under track or towing loads. Because the upgrade works the rear axle, the car also sits more settled under braking instead of the nose-dive a tired rear setup encourages.
About the Hollow Rear Brake Kit
The Hollow Rear Brake Kit takes its name from the disc itself: the two-piece floating rotor is cast with internal hollow vanes rather than a solid face, cutting rotating mass while opening airflow paths through the disc to pull heat away from the friction surface. Supplied as a matched left-and-right pair, less weight spinning at the rear axle means the brakes load and release with less inertia, and the cooling geometry keeps the discs in their working temperature range across repeated stops. The kit pairs these discs with an uprated rear caliper that is hollow-cast as standard, plus a Hollow Racing upgrade for hotter track or towing duty that drops the dust cover, is rated to 1000C and carries a two-year warranty. A choice of three pad compounds means the friction material can be specified for road, fast-road or competition use. Discs come drilled or slotted at the same price, and braided lines keep the pedal firm under heat. Calipers come in Red, Yellow, Gold, Black or Anodized Black at no extra cost, with Custom Color in any Pantone, polished-forged Titanium, Polished Gold or Polished Silver, and candy finishes in Teal, Blue, Red or Orange to match the car. It is a bolt-on rear-axle package built to raise thermal capacity without altering the everyday character of a road-going V90.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 330–356mm (rear). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
