XYZ Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — BMW 1 SERIES F20 4/6 CYL (excl. M-Technik. xDrive & EDC) (Modified Rear Integrated) 2010-2026

A rear-wheel-drive hatchback was never meant to happen twice at BMW, and the F20 1 Series is the reason drift builders keep coming back to it. Strip out the M-Technik cars, the xDrive variants and anything running EDC, and what’s left is a light, RWD, 4 or 6-cylinder chassis with genuine slide potential straight from the factory geometry – it just needs suspension that can hold an angle rather than fight it.

The XYZ Racing Drift Spec coilover is built around that specific job. This is not a fast-road or track-day spring-and-damper set dialled down for comfort – it’s a kit developed for the demands of competitive drifting, where the car needs to stay stable and predictable while it’s deliberately sideways at speed.

What this coilover does for your 2010-2026 Bmw 1 Series

Lower the ride height correctly on this kit and the F20’s body control changes noticeably under lateral load: instead of the chassis rolling and hunting for grip mid-transition, the body stays flatter and more settled as you commit to an angle. That matters on a car like the 1 Series, where stock ride height and passive damping were tuned for a daily-driver understeer bias, not for holding a controlled drift through a long sweeper. The rear-integrated shock mounting on this kit is matched to the F20’s rear subframe, so the geometry that controls slip angle at the rear axle stays consistent as you adjust ride height, rather than drifting out of spec the way it can on a bolt-on setup not designed for this chassis. Set correctly, it gives you a car that transitions into a slide with less snap and holds it with less correction.

About the Drift Spec coilover

XYZ Racing’s Drift Spec coilover is built specifically for the discipline of drift racing rather than adapted from a circuit or fast-road platform. The valving and spring rate are set up to keep the car’s body stable through high-speed turn-in, so the chassis holds a consistent line while you’re setting the angle rather than pitching or wallowing mid-transition. Getting the ride height low with the correct bump stroke set is central to how the kit works – it’s what lets the car settle into a controllable slide instead of an unpredictable one. The result is a kit built to make angle control something you can repeat, corner after corner, rather than something you’re fighting for on every run.

Fitment for the Bmw 1 Series (BM96, 2010-2026)

This kit covers the F20-generation BMW 1 Series across 4 and 6-cylinder variants from 2010 to 2026, using the modified rear-integrated shock mounting for this chassis code (BM96). It excludes M-Technik, xDrive and EDC-equipped cars – those run different rear geometry or adaptive damping electronics that this kit is not configured for, so confirm your exact trim before ordering.

This suspension is designed for Drift race especially. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowing the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.

  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
