XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — BMW 2 SERIES G87 M2 (Modified Rear Integrated) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2023-2026

The G87 M2 leaves the factory with M Adaptive Suspension – electronically controlled dampers that constantly recalculate compression and rebound through the car’s own ECU. Fit a fixed-valve coilover in place of that hardware and the car will throw fault codes unless the electronic damping circuit is properly cancelled first. This XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally kit is built specifically for that scenario: a rear-integrated modification with the cancellation kit included, so the S58’s chassis gets a purpose-built damper instead of a defeated factory unit limping along in a fixed mode it was never designed for.

Tarmac Rally as a discipline means sealed-stage work at speed over surfaces that are never as smooth as a circuit – camber changes, patched tarmac, mid-corner bumps that unsettle a car running stiff track-day rates. That’s the brief this coilover is set up for on the G87: control without the car skittering off-line the moment the road stops being billiard-table flat.

What this coilover does for your 2023-2026 Bmw 2 Series G87 M2

The M2’s S58 puts over 450bhp through a chassis that already fights weight transfer under hard braking into a stage corner; a damper tuned for rough tarmac keeps the front axle loaded and predictable rather than skating over broken surfaces. XYZ’s Tarmac Rally valving is built to absorb the jolt of a big compression event – a mid-corner ridge, a patched section – without kicking the rear multi-link out of line, which on the G87 is exactly where composure gets lost if the rear end steps out under power. That control also does the less glamorous job of keeping the tyre’s contact patch working: absorbing the impact rather than letting it bounce the wheel, so the tyre actually holds traction instead of skipping across the surface. With the electronic damping cancelled and replaced by fixed valving matched to this use case, the car settles into a consistent, repeatable response stage after stage rather than the adaptive system second-guessing itself over rough ground.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

This is a damper built around one job: soaking up what a rally stage throws at it. The valving is set to absorb the impact of uneven pavement and the jolt of hitting a big bump square-on, which keeps the body from kicking and lets the tyre keep working the surface instead of skipping across it. That composure under load is what XYZ describe as the platform for stability – the car staying settled through a sequence rather than pattering off-line after the first compression. The settings themselves come directly from XYZ’s own Tarmac Rally programme, carried over from stage running rather than derived on a rig. On the G87 M2 that means a kit engineered as a full replacement for the factory adaptive damper, not a compromise sitting alongside it – hence the rear-integrated modification and the electronic-damping cancellation kit bundled in as standard.

Fitment for the Bmw 2 Series G87 M2 (2023-2026)

Built for the G87-chassis M2, covering the 2023 to 2026 model years, listed under chassis code BM128-1-C. This variant includes the modified rear-integrated hardware and the cancellation kit required to run fixed-valve damping in place of the factory-fitted electronic system – fit as a matched pair, not as a standalone damper on an otherwise stock adaptive setup.
