XYZ Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — BMW 3 SERIES E90 6 CYL 2005-2011

The E90 3 Series’ near-even weight split and long wheelbase make it one of the more forgiving chassis to swing sideways, but on the six-cylinder 325i and 330i cars that inline-six sitting ahead of the front axle still loads the nose hard the moment you lift or trail-brake into a corner. Getting the car to break traction predictably, and then hold an angle instead of snapping back, comes down to how quickly the suspension lets the body roll and how well it keeps the rear planted once the tyres let go.

XYZ Racing built the Drift Spec coilover for exactly that job. This is not a fast-road or track-day spring rate dressed up for drift – it is tuned around competitive drifting, where the priorities are angle, transition speed and a driver who can feel what the rear axle is doing at all times.

What this coilover does for your 2005-2011 Bmw 3 Series E90 6 CYL

Drop the ride height with the correct bump stroke set and the E90’s roll centre and body movement change in ways that make the car easier to initiate and hold sideways – less body roll to manage mid-slide, and a chassis that transfers weight to the rear more predictably when you get on the throttle. For a car carrying the weight of a straight-six over the front wheels, that matters: the kit is set up to stabilise the body through high-speed direction changes rather than let the nose dictate the line, which is what lets a driver commit to a bigger initial angle without the front end pushing wide. The result on a 325i or 330i is a car that transitions faster corner to corner and settles into an angle instead of fighting the driver for it.

About the Drift Spec coilover

The Drift Spec range is built specifically for drift competition rather than adapted from a circuit or road platform. Its damping and spring combination is aimed at keeping the body settled through the high-speed direction changes that drift runs demand, so the car holds a clean line and angle instead of wallowing as weight shifts side to side. Ride height drops with a bump stroke calculated to preserve usable suspension travel at the lowered setting, which is where a lot of generic coilovers run out of shock stroke and start to feel unpredictable mid-slide. XYZ Racing’s own testing focuses on how the kit behaves specifically under sustained oversteer, not just static ride height or straight-line compliance, and that drift-first tuning is what separates it from a repurposed track kit.

Fitment for the Bmw 3 Series E90 6 CYL (2005-2011)

Built for the six-cylinder E90-generation 3 Series, chassis code BM63, covering the 2005 to 2011 model years. This fitment is specific to the 6-cylinder cars – confirm your engine variant before ordering, as spring rates are matched to the extra weight over the front axle that the straight-six brings compared with four-cylinder E90s.

This suspension is designed for Drift race especially. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowing the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.
