XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — BMW 3 SERIES F80 M3 (Modified Rear Integrated) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2014-2018

The F80 M3’s S55 twin-turbo straight-six puts more torque through the rear axle than the chassis was ever asked to manage on a loose or broken surface, and in factory trim that load is controlled by an electronically adaptive damper system tuned for road and circuit use, not sealed-stage rally work. The XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally coilover for the BMW F80 M3 replaces that electronic damping outright, giving the car a fixed, mechanically set-up platform built for exactly this discipline.

This is the cancellation kit variant, meaning it’s specced to physically and electrically remove the factory EDC dampers rather than working alongside them. On a car that’s heading onto a closed tarmac stage rather than a track day, that distinction matters: you’re not fighting an adaptive system trying to second-guess what the surface is doing underneath you.

What this coilover does for your 2014-2018 Bmw 3 Series F80 M3

Once fitted, the F80 stops relying on software to react to bumps and starts relying on damper hardware set up specifically for repeated hits over uneven stage surfaces. The twin-turbo S55’s power delivery through the rear wheels needs a platform that stays settled under load, and a fixed rally-spec valving keeps the body from pitching and rolling as hard as it would on the standard adaptive setup when the road surface turns rough mid-corner. Traction off tighter stage corners improves because the dampers are doing their job of keeping the tyre in contact with the tarmac rather than skipping over it. Removing the electronic damping layer also takes out a variable most rally preparation wants gone: a suspension that reacts identically corner after corner, stage after stage.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

XYZ Racing built the Tarmac Rally line specifically to deal with the impact loading of sealed-stage work: big, repeated hits from uneven pavement rather than the smoother, more consistent loads of a circuit. The damping is set up to absorb those hits without transmitting shock straight into the body structure, which is what keeps the tyre loaded and gripping instead of unsettled after every compression. That control is what XYZ describes as the core of the kit’s stability under hard cornering – the car holds its line rather than getting knocked off it. The settings themselves come out of XYZ’s own tarmac rally programme, carried over into this road-going kit rather than derived from circuit testing.
