The BMW E60 5 Series carries close to 1,700kg over a wheelbase longer than almost anything else built for drift work, so weight transfer through the rear axle happens on a longer curve than it does in an E36 or E46. The XYZ Racing Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover kit is built around that reality: it gives you the ride height drop and damping control to get the car rotating on command instead of fighting the extra mass through the transition.
This kit is built specifically for competitive drifting on the E60 6 CYL cars, not as a fast-road compromise. Drop the ride height correctly, set your bump stroke, and the kit keeps the body settled through the entry, mid-corner and exit phases of a drift line rather than letting the long-wheelbase chassis wallow.
What this coilover does for your 2003-2010 BMW 5 Series E60
Lower the E60’s ride height correctly and the drift line changes noticeably: the tall factory ride height BMW built for motorway comfort works against you mid-slide, and taking it out shifts the car’s centre of gravity to where it holds an angle rather than pitching or diving. The three adjustment knobs on this coilover let you set compression and rebound independently for how you actually drive it, whether that’s holding a long transition on a wide circuit or snapping into a tighter corner entry. Because the E60 is a heavier car than the 3 Series drift crowd is used to, having separate control over compression and rebound matters more here, not less; the kit is engineered to keep the rear axle loaded and predictable as that mass shifts under power. On track surfaces with real bumps, the damping stays composed instead of unsettling the car mid-drift.
About the Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover
XYZ Racing built the Pro Racing Drift Spec range around the demands of drift competition rather than adapting a road-going design. The core job is stabilising the car’s body through high-speed direction changes so the driver can hold a controlled, consistent angle instead of fighting body roll mid-slide. Three external adjustment knobs give you compression and rebound control, routed through a small-oil-hole internal design that keeps damping response sharp under repeated hard inputs. Set the ride height drop and bump stroke correctly and the difference in drift control becomes obvious once you’re on track. That small-passage oil routing can produce a faint noise over sharp bumps as fluid moves through the restricted channel; that’s a normal characteristic of this design, not a fault. XYZ Racing engineers this range for circuit track use, where surface bumps are part of the job rather than an edge case.
Fitment for the BMW 5 Series E60 (2003-2010)
This kit is mapped to the BMW 5 Series E60 in 6-cylinder form, covering the 2003 to 2010 production run under chassis code BM40. Confirm your car matches this generation and engine configuration before ordering, as the E60’s V8 variants use a different mounting and geometry setup.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
Top mounts included with your kit
Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.
Front
Pillow ball + rubberP+Pillow-ball upper with a rubber insert — adds steering precision and camber adjustability while keeping some of the factory mount’s harshness damping.
Hardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.
Rear
AluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
