XYZ Racing Pro Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — BMW 6 SERIES E64 8 CYL 2004-2010

Sliding an E64 means respecting what the car actually is: a two-door V8 GT built on the E60 platform, carrying a long nose and a soft-top structure that was never designed to load up sideways at speed. The XYZ Racing Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover is built around that reality, giving the BMW 6 Series a chassis that stabilises through the transition into a slide instead of wallowing on its factory springs.

Where a fast-road setup on this car chases comfort, this kit is tuned for the opposite job: holding a controlled angle through a corner and recovering the moment you catch it. Lowering the ride height with the correct bump stroke setting is what turns an 8-cylinder 6 Series from something that leans and pitches under weight transfer into a car you can place accurately mid-slide.

What this coilover does for your 2004-2010 BMW 6 Series

On the road the E64’s kerb weight sits well north of 1.8 tonnes with the V8 up front, and that mass is exactly what makes uncontrolled weight transfer the enemy in a drift car. Three external adjustment knobs let you separate compression and rebound settings, so the front end loads predictably under trail-braking into the entry while the rear can be set firmer to hold the car sideways without the chassis pitching. Dropping the ride height with the correct bump stroke keeps the roll centre and camber curve working through the full range of lock, rather than the car running out of usable travel the moment you commit to an angle. The result is a 6 Series that steps out on your input, not on its own, and comes back in line just as predictably.

About the Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover

XYZ Racing built the Pro Racing Drift Spec line specifically around the demands of competition drifting, rather than adapting a road or circuit-lapping coilover to the job. The internals are tuned to stabilise the car’s body through fast direction changes so the driver can hold a clean, repeatable angle instead of fighting the chassis for it. Three external adjustment knobs give separate control over the damping circuit, and the valving runs through a deliberately small oil-hole passage that firms up response under load. That small-bore design is why the kit can transmit a faint noise over sharp circuit bumps at full compression – it is a known characteristic of this valving, not a fault, and it is the trade-off XYZ Racing accepted for the control it gains in return. The kit is built with circuit-track use in mind, where kerbs and bumps are part of the layout rather than an edge case to be tuned around.

Fitment for the BMW 6 Series E64 (2004-2010)

This kit is built for the 8-cylinder E64-generation 6 Series produced between 2004 and 2010, covering the V8 cars built on the E60-derived platform. Confirm your car sits within this window before ordering, since suspension geometry and mounting points changed across the 6 Series’ production run and cars outside these years are not covered by this fitment.

Set the E64 up to hold an angle and recover cleanly rather than just look the part at a meet – configure your Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover below.

This suspension is especially designed for Drift racing purpose. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowering the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

Front

  • Pillow ball + rubber top mountPillow ball + rubberP+Pillow-ball upper with a rubber insert — adds steering precision and camber adjustability while keeping some of the factory mount’s harshness damping.
  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
