XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow Coilovers — Honda CRV IV 2012-2016

The Honda CR-V IV leaves the factory tuned for motorway calm: tall ride height, soft springs, and damping that lets the body lean and float long before the tyres run out of grip. On gravel, snow, or a rutted forest stage that softness becomes a liability, and the standard struts have neither the travel nor the oil capacity to take repeated heavy hits. This is where the XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover earns its place.

Built around longer-travel dampers front and rear, this coilover is aimed squarely at loose-surface work – rally and rallycross use where a tall crossover like the CRV IV has to soak up landings and mid-corner bumps without bottoming out or pitching the nose. It keeps a high-riding, nose-heavy Honda settled when the surface stops cooperating.

What this coilover does for your 2012-2016 Honda CRV IV

The extra suspension travel gives the CR-V more usable buffer distance over crests and compressions, so the wheels stay loaded instead of skipping across gravel. A larger volume of damper oil and nitrogen gas keeps the shock working consistently through a long stage, resisting the fade that sets in when fluid overheats after sustained hard use. Three adjustment knobs let you set the damper to suit the surface – softer and longer for rough gravel, firmer for hard-packed snow or tarmac link sections. On a 2012-2016 Honda CRV IV that normally rolls and wallows, the result is a flatter, more predictable platform with the ground clearance loose-surface driving demands.

About the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover

The Pro Racing Gravel/Snow was developed primarily for rally racing and rallycross. Its defining feature is increased travel at both axles, which adds the buffer distance a car needs to stay stable when it is being thrown across uneven ground. To support that, the design carries an enlarged volume of shock oil and nitrogen gas – this raises the damper’s thermal stability and stops the oil from being cooked out after long, repeated punishment on a stage. Adjustment runs through three separate knobs, each feeding a small-orifice oil passage. One quirk follows from that design: over big impacts the oil is forced through the narrow passage and can produce a faint noise. That is normal behaviour for this type of long-travel damper and is not a fault. It is a coilover engineered for sustained abuse on loose surfaces, not for kerb-hopping a smooth car park.

Fitment for the Honda CRV IV (2012-2016)

This kit is built specifically for the fourth-generation Honda CR-V (chassis IV), covering the 2012 to 2016 model years. Confirm your registration date falls within that span before ordering, as the platform changed at the generation boundary.

Set your travel and damping for the surface you run, then configure yours below.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. With longer travel for both front and rear, it increases bigger buffer distance to keep the car stable. The most advantages of this product is to extend the amount of suspension oil and nitrogen gas which can increase the stability of the shocks and prevent the shock oil temperature too high from being exhausted after long-term use.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

Front

  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
