XYZ Racing Circuit Master Coilovers — Mercedes-Benz AMG GTR 2017-2023

The GT R’s rear-wheel steering and near-even weight split were calibrated by AMG’s engineers around Nürburgring lap times, which means the standard suspension already leans hard toward circuit capability – it just wasn’t built to hold that setup through a full day of back-to-back sessions. Spring rates soften as oil temperatures climb and the factory dampers start to give up support exactly when you need it most, mid-corner on lap fifteen.

XYZ Racing’s Circuit Master coilover for the Mercedes Benz AMG GTR is built around that gap: a kit for owners doing sustained circuit lap-time work rather than the odd trackday. It replaces the factory suspension corner to corner with a monotube damper designed to hold its damping curve as heat builds, and it’s adjustable enough to chase the balance this chassis needs once tyre and aero grip change through a session.

What this coilover does for your 2017-2023 Mercedes Benz AMG GTR

Fit these to your AMG GTR and the biggest change is consistency from lap to lap – the front end holds its line into fast corners instead of pushing wide as the dampers heat-soak, and the rear stays settled under trail-braking where the standard car’s weight transfer gets busy. The 9720-position damping range, delivered through three external adjustment knobs, gives you enough spread to run a softer setting for a bumpy circuit like Oulton Park and a firmer one for a smooth, fast layout like Silverstone, without swapping parts between sessions. Ride height is adjustable independently of spring preload, so you can correct the GT R’s front-heavy stance under braking without changing your spring rate. Because the platform adjusts at the perch rather than the spring seat alone, corner weighting stays achievable even after you’ve set your target ride height.

About the Circuit Master coilover

Circuit Master sits at the top of XYZ Racing’s range and is built specifically for circuit use rather than fast-road duty. The damper offers 9720 possible adjustment combinations, split across three external knobs so compression and rebound can be tuned independently rather than moving together on a single dial. XYZ has developed and validated the platform with its racing teams competing internationally, feeding lap data back into the valving rather than tuning it on paper alone. The trade-off of that fine-grained adjustment is a small oil-hole design in the knob assembly; running a stiff, circuit-biased setting over a heavily broken kerb or pothole can produce a faint noise as oil moves through the passage. That’s a function of the adjustment mechanism, not a fault, and it doesn’t affect damping performance on track.

Fitment for the Mercedes Benz AMG GTR (2017-2023)

This kit is built for the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT R, chassis code GTR, across the 2017 to 2023 production run. Confirm your build year falls within that span before ordering, as AMG made running changes to the GT platform across its life that can affect suspension geometry.
