XYZ Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — Mercedes-Benz S CLASS W222 (NON MBC hydraulic or 4WD) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2014-2020

Drift suspension on a W222 sounds, on paper, like a category error. The S Class was engineered to insulate occupants from the road, not feed it back through the steering column. But the rear-drive long-wheelbase platform – 5.25 metres of it on the SWB, more on the LWB – has the wheelbase, the weight bias and the AMG-derived torque to do exactly what drift builds need: hold a stable, predictable angle once it is committed. What it does not have, in factory form, is suspension that survives that workload. That is the gap the XYZ Racing Drift Spec coilover is built to close.

This kit is also a cancellation solution for the W222’s electronic damping. Cars fitted with Airmatic or Magic Body Control fight aggressively against aftermarket springs and dampers, throwing fault codes and refusing to settle. The included cancellation hardware shuts the original system down cleanly so the new coilovers can do the job they were designed for.

What this coilover does for your 2014-2020 Mercedes Benz S Class W222 (NON MBC hydraulic or 4WD) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping)

The Drift Spec is a stiff coilover by design – this is not a fast-road kit pretending to be track-capable. Spring rates and valving are weighted for sustained sideways loads, which means the car holds its attitude through the slide rather than rolling onto the outside shoulder and washing out. On the W222 specifically, that translates to a flatter platform under aggressive throttle inputs from an AMG twin-turbo V8, and a rear axle that no longer feels like it is operating two seconds behind your right foot. Ride height drops cleanly thanks to independent spring perch and lower mount adjustment, so you can set static stance without compromising the available shock stroke. Damping is adjustable so the front and rear can be balanced to your driving style and tyre choice.

About the Drift Spec coilover

The Drift Spec runs a 30-level adjustable damper with separate compression and rebound character tuned for the loads drifting puts through a chassis. Construction is a hardened, sealed shock body designed to take repeated full-lock entries without fade. Spring rates are selected on a per-application basis – on a chassis as heavy as the W222, that means rates significantly above what you would find on the Circuit Master or Super Sport, because the car has the mass to need them. Pillowball top mounts on the front sharpen turn-in and remove the rubber compliance that smooths factory steering response. The cancellation kit is supplied to disable the original electronic damping system, including the resistor packs needed to keep the ECU from logging faults once the OE struts are out.

Fitment for the Mercedes Benz S CLASS W222 (NON MBC hydraulic or 4WD) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) (2014-2020)

This kit fits the W222 generation S Class built between 2014 and 2020, chassis code ME63-C, in NON MBC hydraulic and NON 4WD form. It includes the cancellation kit required for cars originally specified with electronic damping. Cars on factory Magic Body Control hydraulic suspension or 4MATIC are not covered by this fitment.

This suspension is designed for Drift race especially. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowing the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
