XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow Coilovers — Mitsubishi LANCER (CHINA MARKET ONLY) 1997-2006

Loose-surface racing punishes suspension in ways tarmac never does, and the XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover for the Mitsubishi Lancer (China Market Only) is built around that reality. Where a circuit damper is tuned for short, tightly controlled travel, this kit gives the 1997-2006 Lancer the longer stroke a gravel or snow stage demands, keeping the chassis settled when the wheels are dropping into ruts and kicking back over crests.

The Lancer nameplate earned its name on rally stages, and this is the part that lets an MT28-1 car go back to doing what it does best. It is set up for rally and rallycross duty first, with enough damping range to make a club-stage or fast-road car composed rather than nervous on broken ground.

What these coilovers do for your 1997-2006 Mitsubishi Lancer (China Market Only)

The extra suspension travel front and rear is the change you feel first. Over a rutted gravel section the wheels stay loaded for longer, so the Lancer keeps drive and steering bite where a shorter-travel kit would be skipping and unloading. The larger oil and nitrogen gas volume inside each damper means the fluid takes far longer to heat-soak, so the car feels the same on stage mile ten as it did on mile one. Three separate adjustment knobs let you tune the damping to the surface, softening for a rough forest stage or firming up for a hard-packed snow road. The bigger buffer distance also buys you a margin of error when a landing arrives heavier than planned.

About the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover

The Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover is engineered for rally and rallycross use, which is why every design choice points towards loose-surface durability rather than outright tarmac stiffness. Both ends run noticeably longer travel than a circuit kit, increasing the buffer distance that keeps the car stable when the ground drops away beneath it. XYZ Racing has increased the volume of both damper oil and nitrogen gas inside each unit, and that larger reservoir of fluid is the key to its endurance: it resists the temperature build-up that exhausts a smaller damper after sustained hard running, so performance holds across a long stage. Control comes from three adjustment knobs, and the design routes oil through a small passage on big hits. That can produce a faint noise as the fluid moves through the smaller orifice over a large bump, which is normal behaviour for this damper and not a fault.

Fitment for the Mitsubishi Lancer (China Market Only) (1997-2006)

This kit is cut specifically for the Mitsubishi Lancer (China Market Only), chassis code MT28-1, covering the 1997 to 2006 production span. It is a market-specific fitment, so confirm your car carries the MT28-1 chassis designation before ordering rather than assuming parity with other global Lancer variants of the same era.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. With longer travel for both front and rear, it increases bigger buffer distance to keep the car stable. The most advantages of this product is to extend the amount of suspension oil and nitrogen gas which can increase the stability of the shocks and prevent the shock oil temperature too high from being exhausted after long-term use.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

Front

  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
