XYZ Racing Pro Rally Coilovers — Porsche 992 CARRERA-2/S CABRIOLET (without hydraulic lift system) 2019-2026

The 992 Carrera-2 Cabriolet’s PASM-controlled suspension is extraordinarily capable on asphalt – and almost entirely the wrong architecture for gravel rally work. Converting a current 911 Cabriolet to a loose-surface competition specification is not a matter of adjusting factory electronics: the full damper assembly comes out, and what replaces it needs the travel, construction, and rebound rates to survive compacted gravel impacts that road-going hardware was never asked to absorb.

The XYZ Racing Pro Rally coilover kit for the 2019-2026 Porsche 992 Carrera-2/S Cabriolet covers PO20-platform cars built without the optional hydraulic front-axle lift system – the correct starting point for a competition-intent build where that mechanism adds weight and complexity without benefit.

What this coilover does for your 2019-2026 Porsche 992 Carrera-2/s Cabriolet (without Hydraulic Lift System)

Rear-engine weight distribution loads the 992’s rear axle heavily under acceleration, which gives the Carrera-2 strong rear traction on tarmac but creates a narrow margin between controlled oversteer and a step-out when grip disappears on loose gravel. Rally-specification spring and damper rates widen that margin, allowing more predictable rear rotation as throttle and surface grip interact. The cabriolet’s reinforced sill structure and cross-bracing – Porsche’s design response to the absent fixed roof – gives the suspension mounting points a stiffer platform to work against under the repeated high-displacement compressions of a stage, an incidental structural advantage the coupe bodyshell does not share.

About the Pro Rally coilover

XYZ Racing builds the Pro Rally suspension around two discrete installation configurations, and the distinction shapes the entire build approach. The amateur type fits directly to the standard 992 chassis without structural alteration – the appropriate route for drivers building for gravel sportives, regulation events, or any programme where a return to stock-specification mounting remains a requirement. The professional type is designed for fitment after modifying the car body, opening up greater travel depth and adjustment freedom for a full competition application where bodywork changes are sanctioned and properly resourced. Both configurations are gravel and snow-rated, covering the varied loose-surface conditions a multi-event rally season demands. The Pro Rally designation reflects top-flight rally competition intent throughout the design: spring rates, damper travel, and mechanical adjustment range are calibrated for stage driving, not for road use that occasionally strays onto a gravel section.

Fitment for the Porsche 992 Carrera-2/s Cabriolet (2019-2026)

This kit is specified for the PO20-platform 992 Carrera-2 and Carrera-S Cabriolet built between 2019 and 2026, in cars not fitted with the optional hydraulic front-axle lift system. If your 992 carries that mechanism, this kit is not the correct application – check your original build specification before ordering.

1. Be installed directly with the original chassis. (Amateur type)
2. Be installed after modifying the car body. (Professional type)
