XYZ Racing Circuit Master Coilovers — Volkswagen GOLF MK6 GTI φ55 (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2008-2012

Any MK6 GTI ordered with VW’s adaptive damping option carries an ECU that still expects a live signal from electronically controlled struts long after they’ve been unbolted. Fit a standard coilover to that car and the dash lights up with warnings, or the system tries to compensate for dampers that no longer exist. This Circuit Master kit ships with the cancellation harness built in, so the φ55-strut electronic damping circuit is neutralised at the source rather than patched around.

Once that’s sorted, what’s underneath is a coilover built for one job: sustained circuit lap-time work, not the odd trackday outing. The Circuit Master sits at the top of the XYZ Racing range for drivers logging real session time in a Golf MK6 GTI who want the chassis to keep its line on the closing laps of a session, not just the opening ones.

What this coilover does for your 2008-2012 Volkswagen GOLF MK6 GTI Φ55 (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping)

The EA888-powered MK6 GTI sends its power through the front axle alone, and hard corner exit on the standard springs and dampers shows up as torque steer and a front end that runs wide before the electronic diff can brake the inside wheel into line. Stiffer, height-adjustable springs paired with a monotube damper bring front-axle load under control earlier in the corner, so there’s less for the electronic diff to correct and the nose stays planted on throttle. Full ride-height adjustment lets you drop the centre of gravity for track use and wind it back up for the road, and the 9720-position damping range means you’re not stuck choosing between a car that’s too soft to trust on turn-in and one that skips over kerbs. Because the cancellation kit removes the factory electronic damping logic entirely, ride and damping response are set purely by the Circuit Master’s own valving, not fought over by two competing systems.

About the Circuit Master coilover

Circuit Master is XYZ Racing’s dedicated circuit-spec design, developed and run by XYZ’s own racing teams on tracks internationally rather than built to a generic fast-road brief. Each corner uses a monotube damper with three external adjustment knobs, giving 9720 individual damping combinations across compression and rebound so the setup can be tuned to a specific circuit rather than left on one generic setting. The knobs work through small oil-hole passages to get that resolution, which means on rough kerbs or heavy bumps you may hear a faint noise from oil moving through the restriction; that’s a normal side-effect of the adjustment range, not a fault. Springs are matched to the damper valving rather than sold as a generic rate, and the kit is built to hold its settings across a full session rather than needing a re-tune after a handful of hot laps. It’s a coilover aimed at drivers doing repeat circuit sessions, not a once-a-year trackday car.

Fitment for the Volkswagen GOLF MK6 GTI Φ55 (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) (2008-2012)

This kit is built for the Volkswagen Golf MK6 GTI, chassis code VO19-1-C, covering the 2008 to 2012 production run fitted with φ55 electronically damped struts from the factory. The cancellation kit variant is specifically for cars that left the factory with adaptive damping – if your GTI has standard passive dampers, use the non-cancellation version of this coilover kit instead.
