XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow Coilovers — Subaru WRX VB (NON Electronic Suspension) 2022-2026

The VB WRX carries Subaru’s AWD rally legacy into a new chassis generation, but its passive suspension geometry – freed from the electronic damper control fitted to higher trims – leaves real headroom for a coilover upgrade designed around exactly the conditions Subaru built their motorsport reputation on. This Pro Racing Gravel/Snow kit from XYZ Racing is built for the WRX’s natural habitat: the loose, unpredictable surfaces of gravel rallying and winter stages, where longer travel and thermal stability matter more than pure lap-time geometry.

That extended travel – front and rear – is the defining characteristic of the Gravel/Snow specification. Where a road or circuit coilover would bottom out on crests or in rutted forest stages, this setup maintains a meaningful buffer distance, keeping all four wheels loaded and the FA24’s AWD traction working. It’s not a compromise between rally and road; it’s a deliberate specification for the driver who takes the WRX to stage events or snow-road driving in earnest.

What this coilover does for your 2022-2026 Subaru WRX VB (NON Electronic Suspension)

The VB’s passive-suspension variants run stock spring rates tuned for everyday compliance – rates never intended for the loads imposed by loose-surface stage driving. Fitting the Gravel/Snow kit directly addresses the WRX’s tendency to wallow on rough terrain, replacing the original damper travel limits with a setup built around larger suspension excursions. The extended oil and nitrogen gas volume inside each damper manages heat across a full event – critical on gravel stages where repeated large inputs would push a standard shock beyond its thermal range. Three adjustment knobs let you set rebound, compression, and height separately, adjusting setup between a gravel stage, a snow special, and the service park road connection as conditions change. The result is an AWD chassis that puts its four-wheel traction advantage to work over the surfaces its heritage was built on.

About the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover

The Pro Racing Gravel/Snow is XYZ Racing’s dedicated loose-surface and winter-conditions coilover, developed for rally and rallycross competition. Its key engineering departure is extended travel in both front and rear units – longer than the circuit-spec variants – to keep the sprung mass well clear of the bumpstops across large suspension excursions. Each damper carries an increased volume of suspension oil and nitrogen gas; this expanded reservoir prevents heat build-up from overwhelming the fluid during sustained high-input stages, keeping response consistent long after a standard unit would begin to fade. The three-knob adjustment system uses a small-orifice oil passage design: when the suspension encounters a sharp, large-amplitude input, the oil routes through a constrained passage – a deliberate choice that creates a brief audible note under hard use, which is normal operating behaviour and not a defect. This is a competition coilover for repeated surface-change events, not a road-to-track conversion adapted to loose-surface use.

Fitment for the Subaru WRX VB (NON Electronic Suspension) (2022-2026)

This kit is specified for the Subaru WRX VB platform (chassis code SU27) covering the 2022 to 2026 model years. It is designed for cars without factory electronic damping – if your WRX VB carries the optional electronic suspension (EDC/EyeDrive-linked damper control), this is not the correct fitment. Confirm your suspension variant in the factory build sheet or dealer spec sheet before ordering.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. With longer travel for both front and rear, it increases bigger buffer distance to keep the car stable. The most advantages of this product is to extend the amount of suspension oil and nitrogen gas which can increase the stability of the shocks and prevent the shock oil temperature too high from being exhausted after long-term use.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

Front

  • Pillow ball + rubber top mountPillow ball + rubberP+Pillow-ball upper with a rubber insert — adds steering precision and camber adjustability while keeping some of the factory mount’s harshness damping.
  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
