Caliper render for this kit:

The 2G Eclipse’s rear axle was specced for a car Mitsubishi never expected owners to push much past stock, yet the 4G63T under the bonnet has been making a mockery of that assumption for three decades. The XYZ Racing rear big brake kit for the Mitsubishi Eclipse (1995-1999) gives the back axle the thermal headroom a tuned DSM actually needs.
This is a single rear-axle upgrade, a matched pair of rear calipers and two-piece floating discs, for cars that have outgrown their original brakes. Pad compound choices run from Street through Sport to a full Racing compound, so the kit scales from a fast-road GS-T to a track or competition GSX without changing the hardware.
What this big brake kit does for your 1995-1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse
Adding genuine clamping capacity to the rear of a 2G Eclipse does two things at once. It restores brake balance that goes ragged once a bigger front setup or stickier tyres enter the picture, and it stops the rear cooking on repeated hard stops, the failure mode that turns a confident turn-in into a nervous one. With the Racing pad compound fitted, you get bite that holds through a session rather than fading after the third heavy application. The Street compound keeps the same hardware civil enough for daily use, with cold-stop manners and lower dust, and Sport bridges the two for hard road work. On an AWD GSX the rear contributes more to overall stopping than most owners credit, so the gain here shows up in stability under trail-braking, not just outright distance.
About the Hollow Rear Brake Kit
The kit is a complete rear assembly designed to replace the factory caliper and disc rather than shim around them. The hollow-vane disc design, the feature that gives the kit its name, sheds rotating mass and opens paths for heat to escape, which matters most on a turbocharged Eclipse that sees repeated heavy braking. The caliper is hollow-bodied as standard. Three pad compounds are offered: a Street compound for road use, a Sport compound for fast-road work, and a Racing compound for track and competition. Discs come drilled or slotted at the same price, with two-tone anodized or titanium centre bells selectable when you order. Caliper finishes come in the included no-cost colours, Red, Yellow, Gold, Black and Anodized Black, with a Custom Color in any Pantone and premium polished-forged and candy options, so the look can be matched to the car or kept understated behind the wheels. Because it ships as a matched rear kit, caliper, disc and pad are specced to work together rather than assembled from mismatched parts.
Fitment for the Mitsubishi Eclipse (1995-1999)
This kit is specced for the second-generation Mitsubishi Eclipse across the 1995 to 1999 model years, and fits the rear axle specifically as a direct upgrade over the factory rear brakes. Confirm your exact trim and existing rear setup against the options above before ordering, as DSM rear hardware varied between front-drive and AWD cars.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 330–356mm (rear). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
