XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow Coilovers — Ford TELSTAR 1993-1997

The Ford Telstar of this era is a soft-riding front-wheel-drive saloon built on the Mazda 626/Capella GE platform – a comfortable family car, not a loose-surface weapon. Rally and rallycross use ask for travel, control and heat tolerance the factory struts were never designed to give, which is exactly the gap the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover is built to close.

This is the gravel and snow specification in the XYZ Racing range: long-travel dampers tuned to keep an FWD Telstar planted when the surface is broken, slippery or dropping away under the wheels. It trades outright tarmac stiffness for the ability to soak up big inputs and keep the tyres loaded on a stage.

What this coilover does for your 1993-1997 Ford Telstar

On gravel or snow the first thing you feel is composure. The extended travel lets the suspension follow a rutted, undulating surface instead of skipping across it, so the front axle keeps biting and the Telstar’s nose-led balance is easier to manage on the way into a corner. The larger oil and gas volume means the damping holds its character deep into a long stage rather than going vague as temperatures rise. Independent knob adjustment lets you soften the car for deep snow or firm it up for hard-packed gravel without touching ride height.

About the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover

The Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover is engineered for rally and rallycross rather than smooth circuit tarmac. Its defining trait is extended travel at both front and rear, which opens up a larger buffer distance so the car stays stable when the surface kicks back or falls away. To survive long stages, each damper carries a greater volume of shock oil and nitrogen gas than a road unit, holding off fade when oil temperature would otherwise climb and exhaust the damping. Adjustment runs through three separate knobs for genuinely independent control of the car’s behaviour. The small oil-hole design inside means a faint noise can carry through over big bumps as fluid moves through the restricted passage – this is normal behaviour, not a fault.

Fitment for the Ford Telstar (1993-1997)

This kit is matched to the Ford Telstar, chassis code FO18, covering the 1993 to 1997 model years. It is the gravel and snow specification of the Pro Racing series for that platform, so confirm your car falls within this chassis and year span before configuring.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. With longer travel for both front and rear, it increases bigger buffer distance to keep the car stable. The most advantages of this product is to extend the amount of suspension oil and nitrogen gas which can increase the stability of the shocks and prevent the shock oil temperature too high from being exhausted after long-term use.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
