XYZ Racing Drag Racing Coilovers — Honda CIVIC TYPE-R FN2 (Modified Rear Integrated) 2007-2011

The FN2 Civic Type-R puts all of its power through the front wheels, which means everything that decides a good pass – traction, wheelspin, the first 60 feet – happens at the nose of the car, not the back. Standard springs and dampers were tuned for road compliance, not for holding a driven front axle flat and loaded the instant the clutch drops.

The XYZ Racing Drag Racing coilover is built around that specific problem for 0-400 metre runs. Rather than one fixed ride height and spring rate for all conditions, it’s set up so you can shift the car’s front-to-rear weight balance toward whichever axle is doing the driving – on this FN2, that’s the front – loading the drive tyres harder off the line and keeping the car settled through the rest of the pass.

What this coilover does for your 2007-2011 Honda Civic Type-R FN2

Lower the front ride height and stiffen the front spring rate and you put more static weight over the driven wheels before you’ve even left the start line, which is exactly the leverage a front-wheel-drive launch needs. Because the setup shifts weight onto the front axle rather than letting the car squat rearward the way a rear-wheel-drive drag car would, the front tyres get the extra vertical load that turns wheelspin into forward drive. Firmer damping through that initial weight transfer stops the front end ballooning up on the shock of the launch, so the tyre’s contact patch stays loaded instead of unloading and breaking traction. Once the front end has settled, the rest of the run benefits from a rear that isn’t fighting the chassis for grip it isn’t being asked to put down.

About the Drag Racing coilover

XYZ Racing’s Drag Racing coilover is built specifically for 0-400 metre competition rather than fast road or circuit driving, and the design works across FWD, RWD and 4WD platforms instead of assuming one drivetrain layout. The core idea is adjustable front-to-rear weight bias: instead of a fixed static weight distribution, the kit lets you shift load onto whichever axle is putting power down at the moment the car leaves the line, compressing the drive tyres harder into the tarmac. That extra compression on the driven tyres cuts down the amount of time the wheel spends spinning free before it hooks up, which is where most amateur drag passes lose their sixty-foot time. The same setting keeps the car settled as speed builds through the run rather than the chassis pitching and unloading the contact patches once you’re through the traps.

Fitment for the Honda Civic Type-R FN2 (2007-2011)

This kit is built to the HN25-1 chassis code, covering the FN2-generation Civic Type-R sold between 2007 and 2011 in the modified rear-integrated configuration. Confirm your car falls within that build window before ordering, as Honda revised suspension mounting points across Civic Type-R generations.

Spec runs from front ride height through to the weight-transfer setting for your specific drivetrain, all matched to the FN2 chassis – configure yours below.

The coilovers are specially designed for 0~400 drag racing such as FWD, RWD or 4WD models. The setting allows vehicle to change the front and rear weight according to the transmission wheel in instant driving, and force the transmission tire having greater compression, which can reduce the idle time of wheel and improve the stability of the vehicle under high speed.

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

Front

  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
