XYZ Racing Pro Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — Subaru FORESTER SH 4WD 2007-2012

A raised wagon body and symmetrical all-wheel-drive layout make the Forester SH about the last shape you’d expect to see sliding sideways, which is precisely why a Pro Racing Drift Spec build on this chassis needs a coilover doing real work rather than just dropping the car for looks. The SH’s taller centre of gravity and AWD weight transfer want to fight a big steering input; this kit is set up to control that instead of letting the body roll catch the driver out mid-transition.

Subaru’s boxer engine keeps mass low up front, but the Forester’s wagon proportions still shift weight further through a turn than a coupe or saloon would. Pro Racing Drift Spec is built around that reality – stabilising the body through high-speed direction changes so the car settles into an angle and holds it, rather than pitching and correcting itself out of the slide.

What this coilover does for your 2007-2012 Subaru Forester SH 4WD

Once fitted and lowered to a proper ride height, the Forester’s body control through fast direction changes tightens noticeably – the wagon’s natural roll under lateral load is reined in, so the chassis commits to an angle instead of wandering through it. The 3-way adjustment knobs let you tune compression and rebound independently front and rear, which matters on a 4WD platform where front and rear axles are both trying to manage power and slip angle at once. Set correctly, the reduced body movement translates directly into a more controllable, more consistent drift line lap after session, on the specific bump stroke this kit is calibrated for. Because the internals route oil through a deliberately small passage at each knob, you get finer adjustment resolution than a standard single-knob setup – the trade-off is a faint oil-flow noise over sharp bumps, which is a normal by-product of that precision, not a fault.

About the Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover

This is a circuit-oriented drift coilover, not a fast-road unit with a drift badge on it. The 3 independent adjustment knobs use a small-oil-hole internal design specifically to give finer control over compression and rebound than wider passages allow, at the cost of a minor oil-passage noise when the car crosses larger bumps at track speed – expected behaviour, not a defect, and it’s a trade the design accepts because the kit isn’t built with rough-road daily use in mind. The core job is stabilising the vehicle body during high-speed cornering so the driver can hold a clean, controlled angle rather than fighting body movement mid-slide. Ride height and bump stroke are set up together so that once the car is lowered correctly, the geometry and damping work as a matched pair rather than fighting each other.

Fitment for the Subaru Forester SH (2007-2012)

Built for the Subaru Forester SH 4WD chassis code SU03, covering the 2007 to 2012 model years. Confirm your Forester sits within this chassis and year span before ordering, as SH-generation running gear and mounting points changed across the model’s production run.

This suspension is especially designed for Drift racing purpose. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowering the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

Front

  • Pillow ball + rubber top mountPillow ball + rubberP+Pillow-ball upper with a rubber insert — adds steering precision and camber adjustability while keeping some of the factory mount’s harshness damping.
  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
