XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow Coilovers — Volkswagen JETTA MK5 (JETTA 3 IN EU) φ50 (Modified Rear Integrated) 2005-2011

The Jetta MK5’s long-travel front strut layout was never built with loose surfaces in mind, but the platform’s basic geometry – torsion-beam rear on most trims, a nose-heavy transverse engine up front – actually suits a longer-travel damper conversion better than most. On loose gravel or snow-packed lanes, wheel control matters more than outright stiffness, and that’s exactly what this Pro Racing Gravel/Snow application is set up to deliver.

This is XYZ Racing’s rally and rallycross-oriented coilover, built for the Jetta MK5 with the modified rear integration this chassis needs to accept the longer stroke. Where a circuit-spec coilover chases lateral grip on smooth tarmac, this one is calibrated for repeated impacts and unpredictable surfaces – the Jetta stays composed over ruts and washboard instead of skittering.

What this coilover does for your 2005-2011 Volkswagen JETTA MK5 (JETTA 3 IN EU) φ50 (Modified Rr Integrated)

The extended front and rear travel gives the MK5’s suspension a bigger window to absorb a hard landing or a deep rut before the chassis feels it – on a car this size, that buffer is the difference between the body staying flat and the front end slamming into the bump stops. A larger internal reservoir of suspension oil and nitrogen gas keeps damping consistent as the shocks heat up during a long stage or a snow-lane run, rather than fading once the oil gets hot. The 3-way adjustment lets you retune compression and rebound between a gravel event and a tarmac transit stage without swapping hardware. Because the valving is built around small-passage oil flow, you may hear a faint noise working through big hits – that’s the design doing its job, not a fault. For a front-driven chassis like the Jetta, that translates into a front axle that keeps tracking straight under power instead of skipping across loose surfaces.

About the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover

XYZ Racing built this damper specifically for rally and rallycross use, where circuit-focused coilovers fall short. The extended stroke front and rear creates a larger buffer zone so the car holds its line over rough, broken ground instead of bottoming out. A bigger reservoir of suspension oil and nitrogen gas is the core of the design – it lets the shock run longer without the oil overheating and losing its damping characteristics, which is exactly what fails on lesser dampers during a long gravel stage. The 3 external adjustment knobs work through deliberately small oil passages; on big hits you may notice minor noise from the shock body, which is a normal side-effect of that valving and not a defect. Despite the rally-first design brief, XYZ Racing states this unit is equally suited to circuit track use, with no bump-related concerns on smoother track surfaces.

Fitment for the Volkswagen JETTA MK5 (JETTA 3 IN EU) φ50 (Modified Rr Integrated) (2005-2011)

Built to the VO24-A chassis code covering the Volkswagen Jetta MK5 (Jetta 3 in the EU market) for the 2005 to 2011 model years. This is the φ50 strut-diameter application with modified rear integration, so the rear mounting is specific to this fitment rather than a bolt-in universal rear.

Configure the front and rear damping to match your stage or lane conditions – pick your spec below.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. With longer travel for both front and rear, it increases bigger buffer distance to keep the car stable. The most advantages of this product is to extend the amount of suspension oil and nitrogen gas which can increase the stability of the shocks and prevent the shock oil temperature too high from being exhausted after long-term use.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
